WHAT IS ALLOY WHEEL REFURBISHMENT AND WHY IS IT REQUIRED?
Alloy Wheel Refurbishment is the process of repairing any damages or reviving the colour and finish of your alloy wheels.
The alloy wheels are the most vulnerable parts of the car and can suffer severe damages. Driving on poorly surfaced roads with potholes or having under-inflated tyres increase the chances for the alloys to get damaged. Also, your alloy wheel can get scratched by hitting against the kerb and pavement while you are parking. The Alloy wheel refurbishment process can bring wheels back to their original condition and is much cheaper than buying brand new alloy wheels.
At times, the alloy wheels might just need a bit of vitality and a fresh look or even an extreme makeover. In that case, alloy wheel refurbishment can be used to change the colour of the wheels and create a finish that would be durable and seal your wheels against any damages, cracks or scratches.
Alloy wheel refurbishment process
The refurbishment process involves a few different steps in order to gain a durable finish:
- We first chemically strip and shot blast the wheels to remove the old coatings before prepping the wheels for a fresh coat and repairing any visible kerb damage.
- We then spray your wheels with powder undercoating.
- Then the wheels are wet-sprayed with the colour of coating that you want. Learn more about our Powder Coating Service. The finish is bright, vibrant, and worthy of any car showroom.
Powder Coat Colours for Alloy Wheels
We offer a wide variety of powder coat colours for alloy wheels for you to choose from, and if we don’t have the colour you’re looking for then we can order it in for you.
We then also use our Cass salt tested OEM approved German lacquer on the wheels, all over the front and back, to effectively seal in the colour and finish for the best protection against road salts and loose surfaces.
